How to Remove Norton Antivirus and Security Products

Among the most frequently asked questions that I get is how to uninstall Norton anti-virus and security solutions. Follow the instructions below to safely eliminate Norton and Symantec security products including their antivirus and firewall from the PC
Removal through the Add/Remove Programs Control panel
In many cases, it is possible to simply remove Norton services and products through the Add/Remove Control Panel.
1-Select Start, Click on Control Panel
2- Double Click on Insert or Remove Programs
3-Locate the Symantec or Norton product recorded and click it. It should seem like this next

5-You'll see a screen similar to this one below. Click the Remove All button to begin the removal process.
Removal of Norton Antivirus
6-After the removal process completes, you'll be requested to restart the computer. Proceed and reboot at that moment.
7-After rebooting Norton needs to be removed from your own system.
If for any reason, the regular uninstall does not take it off, I suggest after automatic setup instructions below to remove any leftover Symantec or Norton security solutions.

Norton has established an automatic removal program to remove the next applications services and products when the removal methods fail. Warning: if you are using ACT! Or WinFAXback up those databases and uninstall those services and products also. The removal tool will get rid of the following computer software services and products from your computer.

Look for almost any Norton or even Symantec product folders that remain. Right-click on them and select Delete. Also look in the Program FilesCommon Files for your Symantec Shared folder and delete it.

- Click Save and save the document into your desktop computer
- Close all Norton Program windows you might have available, and double click on Norton_Removal_Tool.exe to begin the removal tool. Windows Vista users will have to right-click on the document and choose"Run as Administrator"
- After the removal application finishes, you must be prompted to restart your PC.
- Once the computer restarts, your Norton product should really be uninstalled.
